You can be confident that your live worms will arrive safe and healthy with our Live Worm Guarantee on most orders*. Our amazing team of Vermiculturists take the utmost care in packing your live worm order to make sure your worms have the best trip to your doorstep. Sometimes orders may be delayed if there are extreme weather conditions or postal holidays to consider.  

We ship live worm orders on Monday and Tuesday afternoon so that your new worms will arrive before the weekend. Orders are shipped via USPS Ground Advantage or USPS Priority Mail. All orders must be placed by Sunday at 5PM to be shipped on Monday.

What to expect: 

Your worm order should arrive within 2-3 days of shipping. Please note that we only ship within the continental US. Once your order is shipped you will receive a tracking number so you can follow your worm’s epic journey.  

We offer free shipping on all orders except for bulk worm orders or oversized items. If your item requires an additional shipping fee it will be calculated at checkout. If you would like to place a bulk order of worms (over ten pounds) please call before ordering so we can discuss shipping and availability. You can also arrange for local pickup of live worms or worm castings if you live within 20 miles of 31705 Mitchell County Georgia.

Your live worms will be packed in dry peat moss inside of breathable cotton bags. Bags of worms are then placed in sturdy cardboard boxes clearly marked “LIVE WORMS.” Once they arrive, they might seem a little sluggish at first but give them time—they just need to settle into their new home. After a light spritz of non-chlorinated water and a couple of days to settle in and they should be active and ready to get to work! 

Please note that we cannot accept returns on live worms. They are packed with care to get them to you and would not survive a return trip.  

To qualify for our Live Worm Guarantee we need you to follow the following guidelines: 

  • You must be home or ask your post office to hold your shipment for pickup. This ensures that worms aren’t left sitting in a hot or freezing mailbox or on the porch. They do not tolerate extreme temperatures or direct sunlight 

  • Open your worm delivery as soon as it arrives. Place your worms into their (already prepared) bin, give them a light spritz of non-chlorinated room temperature water. They may appear a little thin and dehydrated from their journey so giving them access to their new home and some water right away is important.  

  • If your worms arrive and they haven’t survived the trip you must give us a call within 2 hours of delivery. We will need a photo of the packaging and the worms so we can see what might have caused the issue.  

We do stand behind our worms and will work with you to fix the problem, so it is important that you follow these instructions to qualify for our Live Worm Guarantee.  

All orders other than Live Worms will be shipped via USPS or UPS unless special shipping arrangements are needed. Delivery can take up to a week. You will be provided with tracking information once shipped so you can follow up on your order.  

If you have any special requests or need your Live Worm Order to be held at the post office for pickup, please leave a note during checkout. We will try our best to accommodate your request but keep in mind that once your order is shipped, we cannot guarantee your precise delivery time. Use the tracking information to help best manage receiving your order.
